Business Challenges

Antivirus software was beginning to falter
Software would suddenly stop working – network connections would drop out or suddenly drop packets for random ports destined to/from a PC
Software would cause the CPU to run at a maximum when scanning for viruses which slowed down the PC’s
As they were trying to investigate the issue the productivity of the staff slowed down
Some PCs would be infected with viruses and needed to be completely reinstalled

The Solution

NK2IT provided an antivirus solution by utilizing Trend Micro as their vendor
The Trend Micro Officescan was installed on all Desktop systems throughout the company worldwide
Given the scale of the task, our aim was to leverage features of the Officescan deployment system that would complete the bulk of the migrations automatically – with little manual intervention

Project Outcomes

   Officescan program can be configured to use low CPU cycles when scanning – this has been well received by our software engineers that require PC resources
   Manufacturing equipment has been embedded with Microsoft operating systems that run with limited hardware resources
   Officescan solution has drastically reduced both administrative and support overhead required to maintain company’s antivirus infrastructure
   There is no longer endless unexplained issues – there are no longer clogged up IT support queues
   PC hardware performs better and staff productivity has improved
   There are virtually no complaints about Antivirus software after fine tuning the Officescan software
